Community Solstice Square Dance – Dec 2025

Solstice square dance at Stone bend farm to wrap up the year. Music from the New Boot Goofs. Dance at 6:30pm.

We're stoked to host our first round-robin calling event! Casey Carr, Marc Faris, Katy Heine, and Nancy Spero (and maybe more!) will get yr feet a-movin' and yr spirits a-soarin'. This is a great opportunity to hear from and dance to callers with different repertoires all under one roof — surprises and delight guaranteed. Tuneage will be provided by The New Boot Goofs, a string-band supergroup featuring Jerone Gagliano and Crystal Calabrese on fiddles, Richie Stearns on banjo, Pete Thompson on guitar, and Sally Freund on bass. Hot-cha!! As always, you can count on the fine folks of Stone Bend to sling that crazy-delicious pizza and all manner of tasty bevs. Will a snow-white cake and/or blazing bonfire materialize? You won't know if you don't show. Here's the regular call for volunteers to take a turn at the door, greeting folks and collecting donations for a short spell. If you're willing to do that, please reply to this email! Volunteers get free entry and a drink on Marc's tab. Doors at 6:00, dancing at 6:30, with a little bit of learnin' around 6:15 (spread the word to newcomers). Everyone is most welcome — all dances taught from scratch, and no experience is necessary. Stone Bend is at 196 Porter Hill Road. $10 entry; no one turned away for lack of funds. Come hold hands with yr friends old and new! Celebrate the longest night with joy and love and music and dance!!
